One Last Hand Jose and Jack
Two new Egos enter the chaos on 14 August 2026.
Jose and Jack are the two new characters Fire Brick Games highlights for the One Last Hand full release. Studio copy says they arrive from different corners of history, bring different style ideas, and share the same terrible decision: asking for one last hand. This page is your sampling plan—not a fake kit wiki.
What is confirmed
- Two new Egos at launch: Jose, Jack
- They join the existing cast of outlaws, nobles, mystics, killers, gamblers, and disasters
- Demo roster remains the original eight until unlock—see Character Roster
No public deep kit pages are required for this article to be useful. Comfort, readability, and table fantasy still matter on day one.
How to sample without crowning a forever main
- Play Jose for two High Score matches with a fixed Relic priority
- Play Jack for two High Score matches with the same Relic priority
- Replay each once in Last Hand Standing after you unlock the mode (Game Modes)
- Write one adjective per Ego: sticky, loud, technical, chaotic, stylish
- Only then argue “mains” in Discord
This mirrors the advice in Who to Pick and stops day-one cosplay tiers.
Drafting them into friend nights
- Let newcomers claim a new Ego if they want the launch fantasy
- Veterans can soft-avoid fighting over Jose/Jack for match one
- Screenshot the cast—One Last Hand thrives on memorable lineups
- Use real names in bug reports (“Jose, Canyon, Last Hand Standing, Pick Pocket timing”)
Systems that matter more than the coat
Even with fresh faces, auctions still decide tables. Keep How to Bid and How to Play higher priority than drip marketing. Launch also adds Tricks, Cloner, achievements, and settings—see Launch Changes and Achievements.
Achievement hunting with new Egos
Studio achievement copy mentions experimenting with characters. Schedule one Jose night and one Jack night if your group is trophy hunting, and announce it so nobody feels bait-and-switched mid-lobby.
Style reads (flavor only)
Studio framing: different history, different style, same terrible decision. Use that for roleplay lines at the table. Do not invent stealth passives, hidden multipliers, or matchup charts until official tooltips or patch notes provide them.
Arena presentation homework
Try both Ruins and Canyon with each new Ego once. Lighting changes how readable a silhouette is when six players celebrate at once. Recording a short clip for friends? Say the character name in the filename.
Relationship to the demo eight
Pink Girl, Totem Girl, Cowboy, Blue Boy, Gambler Man, Knight, Assassin, and Katana Girl remain the practice cast. Jose and Jack are expansion energy, not a reason to delete your demo hours. Skill carries; wardrobe expands.
Day-one mistakes
- Declaring a character S-tier after one lucky Recycler
- Ignoring Last Hand Standing samples
- Inventing kits from fan thumbnails
- Forcing Jose/Jack onto friends who wanted their demo main

Launch-week sampling card
Print or paste this into Discord: Jose match 1–2 High Score, Jack match 1–2 High Score, each once in Last Hand Standing, one adjective each, no forever mains until Sunday. Pair with Match Settings so chip count stays fair while you learn silhouettes.
Why this page exists
Roster hubs list names. This page forces a method so launch hype does not become fake character tiers. Keep Launch Changes open while you sample.
Pick your Ego. Try to keep it. Good luck when someone drafts Pick Pocket.

Are Jose and Jack in the Steam demo?
Launch messaging presents them as full-release roster additions, not part of the original demo eight.
Do they have unique abilities?
Treat day-one picks as style and comfort until official kit details are published—do not trust invented passives.
Should I main one immediately?
Sample both across High Score and Last Hand Standing before you crown a main.
